Major visual differences are a winding blind cap and control window segment that point to its enhanced, piston-powered functionality.
Inside, the Elmo 02 Plus boasts a massive, 1.5 ml ink capacity, made possible by a fully integrated Piston Plus filling mechanism that fills the entire barrel instead of a dedicated reservoir. Writers can check remaining ink levels through a 360 control window located at the top of the barrel. No disassembly is required to charge or discharge ink, and air-tight juncture seals prevent leaks.
Materials used on the Elmo 02 Plus follow the template of the Elmo 02, with polished fancy resins, a palladium-brass clip and stainless-steel trims. Like its Vintage Class stablemates, Venetia and Brenta, Elmo 02 Plus owners have a choice of 6mm filigree nibs on three tiers: stainless steel (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1, Stub 1.5), 14K gold (EF, F, M, B, Stub 1.1) and 14K gold flex (EF, F).
