The pen blanks made from Canarywood are sourced from the heartwood, which can have varying colors ranging from pale yellow-orange to darker reddish-brown, often with darker streaks. Some pieces of Canarywood exhibit a rainbow of colors, with dark red streaks, along with natural orange, yellow, and brown hues.

This type of wood is known for having excellent acoustic properties and is utilized for speaker enclosures and entertainment system cabinets.
