Strathmore Gray Scale Paper Pad, 400 Series

Featuring a lovely range of neutral tones from white to black, the Strathmore Gray Scale paper pad is intended for classical value studies, and it performs perfectly with dry media like pencil and pastel. The textured paper has pronounced pockets that grab pigment from your drawing materials and create an organic look for your landscape and portrait studies.

We also tested the Gray Scale pad with a variety of other media, and we were impressed with its strength and flexibility. You can use a bit of watercolor or gouache on this paper without causing any major problems, and we really liked using metallic gel pens on the darker colors.
