About the Sailor Manyo collection:

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the latest Sailor Manyo Ink series, originally launching with the Manyo Pen Third Edition as a pen and ink set last month. This unique collection, inspired by foods from the Heian period as described in the Manyoshu, offers vibrant and evocative colors that celebrate Japanese culture and history.

Manyoshu, which translates to Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves, is the oldest and most revered anthology of Japans poetic compilations. Over a period of four centuries, 4516 poems were written by every class of person ranging from Emperors to merchants and farmers. Manyo is an abbreviation of Manyoshu and its meaning indicates people of all ranks.
