Slightly flexible, with a medium pointed tip and a straight body, the #50 dip pen was a workhorse in Philadelphia pen manufacturer Turner & Harrison’s midcentury lineup. Suitable for neat everyday writing, particularly correspondence, the #50 moves smoothly across paper and holds plenty of ink per dip.

We estimate that these nibs were made in the 1930snearly a century ago. Like all our vintage nibs, they have never been used, and each one has been individually inspected for rust and other defects.

As with any dip pen, you will need to remove the protective coating so that ink will stick to the nib consistently. To remove the coating, simply dip your new pen in ink a couple of times and wipe it off. Repeat until the ink coats the nib completely and doesn’t bead up. This process takes about 15 seconds and only needs to be done once, before you use the pen for the first time.

Sold individually. Made in the United States.
